HOW IT WORKS
The reverse osmosis systems are among the most effective clean water solutions available, efficiently removing more contaminants than any other technology. While the process is slow, requiring a storage tank, it ensures that you have access to purified water. Typically, these RO systems are installed under the kitchen sink, with a dedicated faucet used to supply the water produced by the reverse osmosis system.
Key components include pre-filters, the RO membrane, a post filter, a storage tank, a dedicated faucet, a feed water valve, a saddle valve for wastewater, and tubing. The unit connects to your cold water line under your kitchen sink.
Six-Step Process
Step 1: During step #1, your water is filtered by the first cartridge, which effectively removes sediment, particulate, rust particles, and other solids.
Step 2: Next, your water is filtered by the second cartridge, eliminating Chlorine, Chloramines, tastes, odors, VOCs, PCBs, Nitrates, and other harmful chemicals.
Step 3: During this critical step #3, the reverse osmosis membrane removes harmful contaminants that are dissolved in the solution. Many of these contaminants, such as Lead, Mercury, Arsenic, Fluoride, Sodium, and harmful by-products from the Chlorination process known as Trihalomethanes, are among the most undesirable substances in Omaha water filtration.
Step 4: During step #4, the RO processed water flows to the storage tank, ensuring it’s readily available when needed, while the “bad” water rejected by the membrane is sent to the drain.
Step 5: When purified water is required, your water passes through the post-carbon cartridge for final polishing, enhancing its taste.
Step 6: Finally, great-tasting RO processed water is dispensed from the dedicated faucet, conveniently mounted on your countertop next to your kitchen sink.
